Mensa Canada continues to strengthen opportunities for members of all ages through active testing, local programming, online communities, and national initiatives. As part of this ongoing work, the Gifted Youth Group (GYG) remains an important part of the organization's commitment to supporting gifted children, youth, and their families across Canada.
Under the leadership of Gifted Youth Coordinator Jasmine Kara, Mensa Canada's youth community continues to expand its online resources through MensaYouth.ca while offering national programs that encourage creativity, innovation, and meaningful connections among gifted young people. During the past year, we participated in the sixth National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, which brings together students from across Canada to share original business ideas and celebrate entrepreneurial thinking.
The Gifted Youth & Parents Facebook community has also continued to grow, reaching more than 250 members. Thanks to the ongoing support of Atlantic Representative Barry Schmidl, the group has become a welcoming place where families can connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Across Canada, most major Mensa chapters have now appointed dedicated Gifted Youth representatives to their local executive teams. These volunteers help welcome new families, organize local activities, and create opportunities for gifted children to build friendships with peers who share similar interests and abilities.
To strengthen collaboration between regions, two national video conferences were held during the year, allowing Gifted Youth representatives from across the country to exchange ideas, discuss successful programming, and support one another. As this initiative continues to grow, Mensa Canada hopes to further strengthen these connections and expand opportunities for gifted families nationwide.
Mensa Canada also continues to receive a steady stream of inquiries from parents seeking guidance, resources, and support in raising gifted children. Through its volunteers, local representatives, and national programs, the organization remains committed to helping gifted youth thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Beyond the Gifted Youth Program, Mensa Canada continues to offer a wide range of opportunities for members throughout every stage of life. The national testing program remains active with approximately 40 local and remote proctors, supported by enhanced security measures for remote testing. Young Adult Mensans continue to connect through regional groups and national online communities, while Special Interest Groups, SIGHT, scholarship programs, contests, and other member services provide additional ways for members to learn, connect, and contribute across Canada.
